Phoenix Suns Roster Report 2009-12-12

Phoenix Suns Roster Report 2009-12-12ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Steve Nash, Shooting guard Jason Richardson, Small forward Grant Hill, Power forward Amar'e Stoudemire, Center Channing Frye. Bench -- Center Jarron Collins, Forward Louis Amundson, Forward Jared Dudley, Guard Goran Dragic, Center Robin Lopez.

PLAYER NOTES:

--G Steve Nash had another huge statistical game, recording his 12th double-double of the season with 20 points and 18 assists while adding seven rebounds in 40 minutes. The NBA has seen four efforts of 18 or more assists this season and Nash has three of them. Nash's 18 assists equaled the total of the entire Magic team, the fifth time this season Nash has equaled or bettered the assist total of the opponent.

A 96 percent free throw shooter this season, Nash's streak of 43 consecutive made free throws came to an end with less than two minutes remaining, but the Suns overcame the shock to get the win.

--F Amar'e Stoudemire had a double-double with 28 points and 10 rebounds, but it was his one and only offensive rebound of the game that made the difference for the Suns. Stoudemire corralled Jared Dudley's missed three-pointer and, instead of trying to toss the ball back out, took it aggressively to the basket for a dunk to give the Suns a 106-103 lead with 6.9 seconds left.

--F Jared Dudley had his biggest offensive game as a Sun a year to the day he arrived in Phoenix from Charlotte with Jason Richardson in the Raja Bell/Boris Diaw trade. Dudley finished with career high-tying 19 points including four three-pointers and added five rebounds and two steals to help the team. Dudley was on the floor down the stretch again and assured the Phoenix win by tapping a jump ball out of danger just before the final buzzer.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--G Leandro Barbosa is still about two weeks away from returning after spraining his right ankle in Toronto on Nov. 29.
