Phoenix Suns Roster Report 2009-12-06

Phoenix Suns Roster Report 2009-12-06ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Steve Nash, Shooting guard Jason Richardson, Small forward Grant Hill, Power forward Amare Stoudemire, Center Channing Frye. Bench -- Forward Jared Dudley, Guard Goran Dragic, Center Robin Lopez, Forward Earl Clark, Center Jarron Collins.

PLAYER NOTES:

--G Steve Nash registered his second 30-point effort of the season with a season-high 32 points. He had 20 points in the second half. It's the most Nash has scored since he put up 32 points at Houston on March 6. Nash had only six assists, but three of them came in the fourth quarter.

--C Channing Frye was hot when the Suns needed it most Saturday. After going 1-for-7 from the field in the first three quarters, Frye hit three 3-pointers in the final six minutes to help the Suns pull away. Frye finished with 15 points in a season-high 44 minutes -- with another game looming in Los Angeles on Sunday.

"You've just got to keep shooting," Frye said. "They're going to go in eventually."

--F Amare Stoudemire posted the sixth 20-rebound of his career with 21 against the Kings, two shy of his season high. He has now posted consecutive double-digit rebound games for only the second time this season (Nov. 3-4), and he has 33 rebounds in his last two games (16.5 per game) after collecting a total of 35 boards in the previous seven games combined (5.0 per game).

--G Jason Richardson, who had a total of 20 points in the previous two games -- both Phoenix losses -- bounced back with 12 points in the first quarter Saturday to get the Suns off to a good start. Richardson finished with 16 points.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--G Leandro Barbosa will miss two to four weeks after spraining his left ankle in the fourth quarter of the Nov. 29 game. Barbosa historically needs every bit of the long end of his timetables to return from injuries, so don't look for him to return much before Christmas.

--F Louis Amundson, who did not play in Cleveland on Wednesday, missed Saturday's game with the flu. His availability for Sunday's game in Los Angeles against the Lakers is to be determined.
