ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Steve Nash; Shooting guard Jason Richardson; Small forward Grant Hill; Power forward Amar'e Stoudemire; Center Channing Frye. Bench -- Guard Leandro Barbosa; Forward Louis Amundson; Forward Jared Dudley; Guard Goran Dragic; Center Robin Lopez; Forward Earl Clark; Center Jarron Collins. PLAYER NOTES: --G Steve Nash had 18 assists against the Raptors in Toronto last year and was in a giving mood again Sunday. He scored 20 points and dished out 16 assists before leaving to a standing ovation with another Phoenix win well in hand.
Nash has recorded at least 15 assists in six of the last 12 meetings with Toronto. He had also dished out 16 assists six times in the first 17 games of this season, topping 20 twice. He leads the league averaging 11.8 assists a game.
--G Jason Richardson continues to be a great barometer for the Suns' success. The Suns have now won 13 straight games when Richardson scores at least 20 points after he led the Suns with 22 against the Raptors. He had four of Phoenix's 13 3-pointers but also contributed in several areas, grabbing nine rebounds and taking several charges on defense.
--C Channing Frye has been far more productive offensively in home games this season, but that's changed on this road trip. He followed a strong game in Friday's win over Minnesota with 15 points including three 3-pointers and eight rebounds in 38 productive minutes. The Suns outscored the Raptors by 25 points when Frye was on the floor -- the best plus-minus rating of any Phoenix player.
In the first two games of this road trip, Frye has hit 8 of 14 shots from the field and five of eight 3-pointers. Next comes a return to New York against the Knicks, who drafted him ... and gave up on him.
MEDICAL WATCH:
--G Leandro Barbosa suffered a serious ankle sprain in the fourth quarter of Sunday's win and immediately left the game. He will miss at least the final two games of the road trip in New York (Tuesday) and Cleveland (Wednesday) and perhaps as long as two week. The injury will hurt the Coyotes but it may end up helping Barbosa, who has been playing with a sore wrist and will now be forced to rest that as well. Barbosa was playing well against the Raptors with 17 points before he landed on a defender while hitting a long-range jumper.
