PLAYER NOTES: --C Shaquille O'Neal turned back the clock and turned in his most dominant offensive performance in six years with 45 points and 11 rebounds. He recorded his 49th career 40-point game, his most since scoring 48 points on March 21, 2003 (Lakers versus Celtics). O'Neal, at 36, is the second-oldest player in history to have a 40-point/10-rebound game. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar accomplished the feat at age 38. O'Neal collected 20 field goals, tied for the second-most in franchise history and the second-most in the NBA this season. It was the sixth time in O'Neal's career that he recorded 20 or more field goals made. O'Neal now has 13 games of at least 20 points and 10 rebounds this season after tallying six 20-10 games in all last year. The Suns improved to 10-3 when he gets a double-double.
--F Grant Hill bounced back with a strong game and a double-double with 14 points and 12 assists -- the most assists he's had in a game since 1999 when he was still a Detroit Piston.
--F Matt Barnes was put into the starting lineup by coach Alvin Gentry and responded with 18 points, six rebounds and six assists in one of his best games as a Sun. He had a team-best plus-22 for the night even though he missed four of his five three-point attempts. Barnes was also one of several Suns seen diving near or into the crowd in search of loose balls.
--F Louis Amundson continues to push the envelope. He recorded his first career double-double with a career-high 20 points and 10 rebounds. Amundson now has four double-digit scoring efforts this season after entering the season with a career-high of eight points. He also added four blocks, more than the entire Raptors' team.
