Phoenix Suns Notes, Quotes 2008-12-31
--The Suns have now beaten the Grizzlies 10 straight times -- their longest current streak against any opponent -- and have won five straight in Memphis.

--A night after Leandro Barbosa set a career high with six steals in Oklahoma City, Grant Hill tied a career high with six steals of his own against the Grizzlies.

--The Suns snapped a four-game losing streak on the road. They hadn't won away from Phoenix since Nov. 26 at Minnesota.

--Shaquille O'Neal passed Oscar Robertson (26,710) for eighth place on the all-time NBA scoring list with his 24-point effort. Now with 26,715 points, O'Neal needs only 231 points to catch No. 7 Hakeem Olajuwon (26,946) as he works his way up the list.

--Over his last eight games, O'Neal is averaging 23.3 points and nearly 65 percent from the line (well above his career average of 52.5 percent) after making eight of 10 against the Grizzlies.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "In the first half, I struggled to make shots but in the second half, I made some three-pointers and that helped get me going. It's a little difficult for me (to play point guard) because I don't know all the plays. It's hard to be aggressive when I have to look over at the coaches for help." -- Guard Leandro Barbosa, who had 22 of his 28 points in the second half while subbing for the injured Steve Nash at point guard.
