Phoenix Suns Notes, Quotes 2009-12-12

Phoenix Suns Notes, Quotes 2009-12-12--Phoenix improved to 8-0 at home this season and remains the league's only undefeated team at home. This is Phoenix's best home start since a franchise-record 14-0 start in 1994-95, and eight of the next 11 games are at home.

--The Suns have won 17 consecutive home games dating back to 2008-09, the longest active streak in the league. Phoenix has not lost at home since March 12, 2009 and during the streak is averaging 118.8 points, including 116.5. points in the first seven home games this season.

--Since Alvin Gentry became the Suns head coach, the Suns are 22-3 (.880) at US Airways Center. The only coaches with better home records during that span are the Lakers' Phil Jackson (25-3) and the Cavaliers' Mike Brown (23-3). Gentry is tied with Denver's George Karl (22-3), and the Suns will try to put Gentry ahead when they meet the Nuggets Saturday in Denver.

--Of Phoenix's 16 wins this season, seven have come against playoff teams from 2008-09, including wins over the Eastern Conference's top two teams (Boston, 18-4; Orlando, 17-6).

--The Suns remain perfect (11-0) when leading a game by at least 10 points.

--The Suns earned their eighth consecutive home victory over the Magic, who have not won in Phoenix since Nov. 14, 2001. Dwight Howard remains winless in six career visits to US Airways Center (0-6).

--Both teams live and die by the three-pointer and Friday was no exception. Phoenix and Orlando put up a combined 66 three-pointers -- 38 of them by the Magic. Orlando made 13 while the Suns were more accurate at 10-for-28.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "It was really great. Steve Nash is the best point guard I have ever played with. It's basically wide open shots and I had the opportunity to knock it down. With Amar'e rolling to the basket I was left open a lot of times." -- Suns forward Jared Dudley, who tied a career-high with 19 points, including four three-pointers.
