Phoenix Suns Notes, Quotes 2009-12-10

Phoenix Suns Notes, Quotes 2009-12-10--After a 14-3 start, the Suns are 1-4 over the last five games and have scored 101 points or less in each loss. This one was a rare close loss. Five of the previous six Suns losses this season had been by at least 17 points.

--The Suns lost despite getting 72 points from three players in Steve Nash (27 points), Jason Richardson (25) and Amare Stoudemire (20). The other six players who saw the floor combined to miss 21 of 30 shots from the field and scored a total of 29 points.

--After playing in only two games and spending most of the season inactive, rookie forward Taylor Griffin was assigned to the Iowa Energy of the NBA Developmental League. Given Phoenix GM Steve Kerr's track record, Griffin's stay in the NBADL should be a short one because the Suns like have extra practice bodies during the season.

--Forward Louis Amundson returned to the Phoenix lineup after missing two games with the flu. Coach Alvin Gentry wasted little time using him, making him the first reserve off the bench. Amundson had two points and two rebounds in 12 minutes, and was burned by a Dirk Nowitzki three-point play to end the third quarter.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "We've had 15 road games, so we're a little bit tired. We've got to fight through that. The legs are a little tired but nobody cares, nobody's going to feel sorry for us." -- Suns guard Steve Nash.
