--Phoenix improved to 14-3 (.824) Sunday and still owned the NBA's best record. The Suns have also have a four-game winning streak -- the third time in the first 17 games of the season that they won at least four straight, something that happened only once all of last season. --The Suns are 11 games over .500 just 17 games into the season. The Suns were never 11 games over .500 during the 2008-09 season, when they missed the playoffs for the first time since 2003-04. --Phoenix won its eighth road game in 11 tries so far this season. Last year, the Suns didn't win their eighth road game until Dec. 29.
--The Suns are 10-0 when holding their opponents to fewer than 110 points. And the Raptors weren't even close, shooting 39 percent from the field and scoring just 45 points in the second half -- and only 18 in the fourth quarter.
--The Suns are in the midst of playing five straight teams with losing records and are taking care of business. They have beaten Detroit, Memphis, Minnesota and Toronto by an average of 20 points and have shot a combined 57 percent from the field after "cooling off" to 52 percent on Sunday.
--Phoenix won its 12th game in November (12-3). That gives the Suns their first 12-win month since November 2007.
QUOTE TO NOTE: "I wouldn't trade him for any guard in the league, I really wouldn't. The way we play and what we want to do, he's my guy. I wouldn't trade him." -- Suns coach Alvin Gentry on Steve Nash after his annual trip home to Canada.
"That's really sweet of him, but I'm sure if they offered Chris Paul for me, he'd kick me out the door." -- Nash, in response to Gentry's comment.
