--The Suns have tied the best record in franchise history after eight games, and they've done it with offense. They've hit 89 3-pointers in the first eight games (11.1 per game) and scored at least 100 points in all eight for the first time since the 1990-91 season. --Phoenix is 5-1 in its first six road games, important because the Suns begin the season with 17 of their first 26 games away from US Airways Center. "It's important for us to win road games," guard Steve Nash said. "We're the top team in the Western Conference and we have all those games on the road. It could be over for us if we can't win on the road. It's important for us to win some road games so we can stay in the playoff picture." --The Suns have beaten the Sixers in 11 of the teams' last 15 meetings. But Philadelphia won at home in 2007-08, denying the Suns a chance to go 15-0 against the Eastern Conference on the road. They finished 14-1.
--G Steve Nash recorded the second 20-20 game of his career -- and the first in a regulation game -- with 21 points and 20 assists against the Sixers. It's also the first 20-20 game in the NBA since Nash collected 28 points and a career-high 22 assists in a triple-overtime loss to the Knicks on Jan. 2, 2006 at Madison Square Garden.
--Monday was the seventh 20-assist game for Nash as a Sun, tying Kevin Johnson for the franchise lead. "I don't know what to say about the guy," Suns coach Alvin Gentry said. "I love the fact that everybody thinks he's getting older and a step slower. We should all be so lucky as players to get older and be a step slower and still do what he does."
QUOTE TO NOTE: "I was a free agent and it was natural to explore my options. Some people said I was a little crazy going back to Phoenix because I wouldn't have as good a chance to win. I liked the team and coaches and I was comfortable." -- Guard Steve Nash, who signed a two-year extension with the Suns in the offseason.
