--The Suns are 2-0 for the first time since 2004-05, when Steve Nash returned to Phoenix and led the team to a 31-4 start and a 62-win season. Phoenix has averaged 116 points per game, even without starting shooting guard Jason Richardson (suspension). It's the 10th time in franchise history they have started 2-0, but only the second time since 1998-99. --The Phoenix defense is still a work in progress, but they took some steps forward against the Warriors. The Suns limited Golden State to just 42.4 percent shooting, outrebounded the Warriors 47-38, forced 22 turnovers for 31 points, recorded seven blocks and seven steals. --The Suns won their 10th-straight home game dating back to the 2008-09 season. Phoenix has not lost at US Airways Center since March 12, 2009 (Cleveland) and has scored an average of 120.8 points during the streak. The Suns are now 15-3 at home under Alvin Gentry since he took over for Terry Porter last February. Gentry is also a perfect 4-0 when he has Amar'e Stoudemire in the lineup.
--Phoenix averaged 124.5 points in four games against the Warriors last year and would have blown past that mark if the starters hadn't called it a night with four minutes left.
--Phoenix improved to 31-11 in home openers all-time, including 12-6 since moving to US Airways Center. The Suns won their home opener for the first time since the 2006-07 season, snapping a two-game losing skid.
--The Suns have beaten the Warriors nine straight times in Phoenix, dating back to Mar. 18, 2005.
QUOTE TO NOTE: "Our defense was really good; we did a good job on their big scoring guys. I like our screen-and-role offense and the way it created shots for Channing (Frye). L.B. (Leandro Barbosa) was really aggressive... It's a home win, and teams that win 50 games in a season win 30 games at home so we have to protect home court." -- Suns coach Alvin Gentry.
