Bass agreed to leave Dallas and sign with the Magic , the Eastern Conference champions said Friday.

The Magic did not disclose terms, but NBA.com reported it was a four-year contract worth about $18 million, with an escape clause after three years.

The Mavericks were hoping to re-sign Bass but ran out of money and playing time with the acquisition of Shawn Marion. Dallas is expected to soon get restricted free agent center Marcin Gortat from Orlando; paperwork is going through on an offer sheet that the Magic is not expected to match.

Bass, 23, is expected to start at power forward, with Rashard Lewis and newcomer Vince Carter taking over the two wing spots.

Hill stays with Suns: Forward Grant Hill, 36, decided to remain in Phoenix. Lon Babby, Hill's agent, said the deal is for two years, the second at Hill's option, and will be worth $3 million in the first year.

Stackhouse waived: The Grizzlies waived guard Jerry Stackhouse, a day after acquiring him in a four-team, eight-player trade. Stackhouse, 34, was due more than $7 million with the Mavericks next season, but his contract could be bought out for $2 million - likely the amount of cash Memphis got in the deal.

BlazerS use coach option: Portland exercised its option on coach Nate McMillan's contract, extending it through the 2010-11 season. McMillan, 44, led the Blazers to a 54-28 record last season and their first playoff appearance since 2003. Draft pick Patty Mills (55th overall from Saint Mary's) broke a bone in his right foot during practice and won't play in the summer league.

Jazz keep Okur: Center Mehmet Okur agreed on a two-year extension that runs through 2012.

Draft signings: Rookie contracts are dictated by draft position, but teams can give players as much as 20 percent extra. The Timberwolves signed first-round picks Jonny Flynn and Wayne Ellington. Flynn (No. 6 overall, guard, Syracuse) will earn at least $2.47 million next season. Ellington (28th, guard, North Carolina) at least $836,000. The Suns signed Earl Clark (14th, forward, Louisville), who could make about $1.47 million next season. The Kings signed Omri Casspi (23rd, forward, Israel), who could make $3.26 million in his first three years.
